Would you like to have curls on your hair, but fear that your straight hair straightener is useless for this purpose? In fact, that's not the case at all! Even a straight hair straightener can in fact allow you to have fantastic curls!
So let's find out how to make curls with the plate, and how you can proceed to get the best results. All you will need is a brush or a comb, some tongs or hair clips and, finally, the aforementioned hair straightener, which has rounded edges.
Curl your hair
Once you have taken care of finding everything you need, get ready for processing! Our advice is to carry out this procedure only on dry hair, in order to obtain a more defined and longer-lasting hairstyle. Also, working on dry hair will allow you to avoid the hair from undergoing one thermal shock excessive, which you can still limit in case (suggested!) in which you decide to use a thermal protector.
Of course, this doesn't mean that you have to operate on "dirty" hair. Therefore, it is better to wash them a few hours or a day before, and ensure that there is no excess moisture, as well as residues of lacquers, gels, foams and more.
After this initial hurdle, take a comb or one Brush and properly prepare your hair for styling. It will be sufficient to pass these tools on the hair in such a way that it can untangle all the locks, untying any knots. In doing this, act calmly avoiding "tearing" the locks, and thus avoiding unnecessary stress that could weaken your hair.
Now, proceed with the work the hair in an orderly manner, avoiding to leave out the locks. For this reason, it is advisable to divide the hair into sections, then fixing them with the help of the pliers or clothespins that we got a few paragraphs ago. Intuitively, you can well imagine that the narrower the sections you are going to structure, the tighter and more defined the curls you will get from this procedure. On average, try to structure locks of about 5 centimeters if you want wider curls, which could best enhance your long hair, while if you have shorter hair it may be advisable to proceed with tighter curls, and therefore working on strands of about 2-3 centimeters.
Done? Then the time has come work with the plate. Take the first strand starting from the bottom, in correspondence with your ear, and position it diagonally closing it on the hair. At this point, rotate it in the direction of your face, until the lock makes a complete turn on itself. Then slide the plate downwards, covering the entire length of the lock.
Once you have reached the end of the lock, open the straightener and admire the result you have obtained: a first ring more or less defined on the basis of the width of the lock.
Once this is done, all you have to do is continue with the other locks, dedicating yourself to the rest of the hair. Go section by section, starting with the strands attached to the neck and nape, and then work on the upper part of the head. As a final effort, once you've made all the curls, spray the locks with a light long-lasting hairspray.
Tips for perfect ringlets!
At this point, we just have to invite you to create your new favorite curls ... not before sharing some final thoughts!
First of all, if you want to obtain a more dynamic and ample volume, you may find it more appropriate to wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo and not use the conditioner, which instead would have the opposite effect, namely that of softening the strands too much. To get extra volume, try drying your hair with your head down or using a nice diffuser.
Finally, to get more voluminous hair, remember to try to bend your head down and shake the hair a little after creating the curls. And if you want an even more natural effect, try to ruffle the curls with your hands once the styling is finished: in this way you will get a fake messy effect that has been so fashionable for some seasons now!
